This is a through-composed sketch for a potential third movement in the laptop quartet I’m working on.  It’s based on the Theme 1 material from the first movement.

The final piece as notated for performance will be different from my studio sketches, which are models for ideas and flavors, but not practical scores.  The finished score will include a lot of room for improvisation.

There will continue to be updates posted of the work in progress.

If you find the material congenial, would you please consider playing one of the laptops in the quartet?  It would be exciting to develop the piece with specific performers in mind, and also efficient, since I could then compose the part for whatever particular software you already have on your computer.

If anyone has access to one of Ed Christensen’s Sonic Palettes, it would be fun writing a part for one of these intriguing new controllers, running whatever your favorite software happens to be.
